SITE IN PROGRESS WE ARE SORRY ABOUT THESE DELAYS

 History

Malborough "Moonrakers" Cricket Club (MMCC) existed for several years as a functional "pub side" playing against local pub and touring sides.  Our first serious game was against the Pig’s Nose at Prawle, a fixture that has never been dropped.  Over the years we have played many village sides including Diptford, Slapton, Hele Arms at Plympton, The Wembury Grasshoppers, East Prawle and Blackawton to name but a few.

The Club Today

The Moonrakers has now developed into a successful and competitive non-league village club which attracts great support from the local community.   As with many clubs we rely on lots of voluntary support and hold regular fundraising events usually in the local Village Hall or at the pub.  We now play on the recreation ground at Malborough with two proper tracks and an all weather strip.   We welcome new members - players and non-playing supporters - to nets on Thursday evenings and matches on Sunday afternoons.  The MMCC fixtures list is posted in our 'Clubhouse' The Royal Oak, Malborough.

Steve Stewart the current captain leads the team of all age groups from veterans of the sport to up and coming youngsters with one thing in common - they are all willing and serious about their cricket!  This year we are playing from the 1st may to the 25th September weekly with a tour to Somerset.
