The History Group has been running for nine years and is a small but very friendly group. We found that most people simply could not fit monthly meetings into their busy lives and so we meet four times a year. Our meetings are on the first Wednesday in February, April, June* and October. This arrangement seems to suit everyone. (* Note that our June 2012 meeting is on the second Wednesday to avoid clashes with Diamond Jubilee celebrations.)
There is a £7 annual membership fee which entitles you to free entry at all four meetings. Non-members are also very welcome at our meetings and are asked to pay £3 per head.
Our meetings are held at 7.30 pm in Malborough Baptist Church, when we have a speaker followed by refreshments and a chat.
The June meetings are our ‘outdoor meetings’ when we try to do something out of doors or visit somewhere of interest.
We have a small committee of Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary but we welcome volunteers to help with special projects. If you would like to help or have ideas for new projects, please contact one of the committee members (see below).
